cute cat videos

I am so tired of doing house chores today. No worries, Tiger is here to the rescue. As soon as i lay down on the sofa he would come by my side and give mommy a soothing back massage. He’s such a sweet and lovable cat.

Do you want to see him in action? All four paws doing a back massage. Read here if you want to read Tiger’s adoption story.

Here’s another video showing Ashton and Kuting grooming each other. Read their rescue and adoption story here.

I am quite happy that it is raining today. The summer heat has been so terrible and rain provides a lot of relief. So, what to do on a cool and rainy day… warm cuddles with the kitties.

If only i could speak…

Thank you mom for rescuing me. I was so afraid, hungry, tired and cold when you found me. You did not hesitate to scoop me up when i followed you and rubbed so hard on your feet until i stumble and fall. Who would have thought that i used to fit on your palm and that’s how small i was. Now i am fat (hehe…), happy and so grateful to you mom. I owe you my life. Had you not saved me, i might have died of hunger and cold from the rain or maybe torn into pieces by stray dogs. You are truly my hero mom. Love… Ashton.

Thank you mom for adopting me from the shelter. With lots and lots of cats i am so lucky that you’ve chosen me or shall i say i chose you. Well, i tried so hard to catch your attention. I tried to be a good boy, i tried to be calm when you carried me, i tried to be as sweet as i could be because i really wanted a forever home. Had you not adopted me, i still might have been at the shelter. I hope all my siblings have also found their forever home. It’s been 5 years since then and i am so happy to be with you. I know i am making you happy too as i have been your constant nap buddy and laptop buddy. You said you love to cuddle me because i have the softest fur. I also love to cuddle with you too. You are my hero mom. Love… Tiger

Thank you mom for rescuing me. Ever since i walked inside the yard as a tiny kitten, you made me a part of the family of outside cats that you are regularly feeding. There are a lot of challenges and dangers being an outside cat. I know that you take good care of us by feeding us and by making sure we are spayed/neutered but i still got into trouble. One day, you found me with a big wound on my tail. You got so worried upon noticing that the lower part of my tail has no life already. I know vet bills are expensive but you hurriedly brought me at the vet for tail docking. I guess i have to thank the unfortunate thing that happened to my tail because from then on you made me an inside cat. You said i am too sweet and timid to be an outside cat which often resulted to other toms bullying me around. Now i sleep in comfort inside your home. I have a lot of furselfies too like the rest of the kitties which you post regularly on your Instagram. You are my hero mom. Love… Kuting

When grandma has been experiencing difficulties because of grandpa’s illness, grandma decided to bring me to you for fostering. Grandma had no choice during that time because grandpa sometimes gets angry with me for no reason at all and grandma always cries. Inspite of my disability as a deaf kitty, you never get tired of giving me lots of extra care and attention. Today marked another milestone as i have been spayed. When i heal, sooner i would be with grandma. Well, i know she would take care of me like you do and she says it’s okay and safe to live with her now and nobody would hurt me again because grandpa had crossed the bridge. But i am not taking that against grandpa because he had Alzheimer’s and he was not aware of the things that he says or do. When the time comes that i will be back to live with grandma, i will surely miss you mom. Thank you for all the love and care. You are my hero and you will forever be my mom. Love… Puti

In response to The Daily Post prompt: MARTYR

charming and colorful

December is the happiest and most colorful month of the year. Shining and shimmering Christmas decors and twinkling fairy lights adorn houses, streets and malls… and restaurants too.

20161203_135252aaa

The mixed and unmatched chairs, lovely ceiling lamps and flowers made this place so charming. I instantly fell in love with the pink couch. It is so attractive that i took a close up photo of it and i am dreaming of owning a similar one in the future. Will definitely add that to my wish list. I could almost feel how RELAXING it is sitting or lying down on that soft couch.

Puti says it’s 18 days til Christmas. She is so excited to experience her first ever Christmas.

whiteaaa

She’s so lovely with those big blue eyes. One of the benefits of owning cats is by just stroking your kitty’s fur you could feel that magical effect… it is so calming and you could feel your worries and tension slowly VANISH and melt away. I would surely be having a fun fur stroking session before the year ends as i would like to leave all those bad feelings behind.

Bonus shot… Happy Taco Tongue Tuesday #TTT from Ashton. Wishing everyone a happy day.

a photo bomber

Clouds are one of my favorite subjects when taking photos. Formations only last seconds thus no two cloud photos are alike which even make it more interesting.

20161001_113244aaa

Did you notice that dragon like thing at the lower end of the photo? Well it is actually a TREE and a photo bomber. Kinda creepy isn’t it?

Looks like Ashton doesn’t approve of my photo at all, hahaha!

cheery and bright

Colorful, vibrant and cheery lantana flowers that lined the side walk are for the eyes to FEAST on. As i begin to photograph them a happy butterfly is as enthusiastic as me as it began to fly from one flower to another. It also feasted on their sweetness feeding on nectar.

20160718_122828aaa

The butterfly is so elusive as i try to take some photos. And almost missed it.

20160718_123217aaa

Yey, gotcha.. i almost missed again.

20160718_123033aaa

Oops, it flew… it’s almost out of range.

20160718_123226aaa

And finally, the butterfly is in the range and i guess this is the best shot.

20160718_123234aaa

I looked so silly hopping from one flower to another just to take some photos but it’s fun.

Happy Wednesday! And to add brightness to your day, here’s Ashton my laptop buddy for today showing off his whiskers and his itty-bitty tongue. Please enjoy!

the ugly frog turned into a handsome prince

Sometimes i am beginning to think that my blog is turning into a cat blog. It’s just that i wanted to share my love for these wonderful furry companions. They are my source of calmness as they ease away my tension and stress. Hearing them purr or just by stroking their smooth fur gives me a sense of well-being.

Ashton and his story.
When i rescued Ashton he was so skinny that i could see his protruding ribs, he’s wet, cold and shivering as it was raining that day. His eyes were dull, hazy and watery, his face looked so sad, had colds and wet at the bottom. My heart melted right away so i scooped him up and brought him home so i could give him a chance to live. I have never seen such a teeny-weeny kitty that rubs itself to my foot even if he fall and tumble and yet do it over and over again. Okay, that’s it. I cannot leave him there. It was as if he was begging me to pick him up and save him.

Now, several months later, he turned into a handsome prince. The DETAILS of his transformation is so clear. His eyes are now green and bright. He looks so happy now and healthy. He had defeated all his medical issues and blossomed into a perky, playful kitty. It took a lot of medication and loads of tender love and care to make him better and they are so worth it.

ashton2

The lovely thing about these two photos is that little Ashton and the bigger Ashton is sporting that same kind of cute smile. So adorable.

my 4-legged bodyguard

Marwind of Gershephund is actually the full real name of my German Shepherd dog. I got him from the breeder at 2 months old. On his certificate, he is registered as black and tan; sire Meghana’s Lifeline Jasper; dam Dora Von Der Nacht – daughter of PH Champ Ebby Z. Milabru. That means that Marwind is the grandson of a Philippine Champ. How cool is that.

The DARKNESS of his coat is very visible during his puppy days and as months passed, his coat slowly turns lighter and these days he is now sporting the black and tan coat.

marwindpix

Above first photo is when he’s 3 months old, the second photo he’s 7 months and the third photo was just taken recently and he’s now 1 and a half years old. He (together with my rescued local dog Rafraf) is the culprit behind my destroyed potted plants. But it’s okay because i love him to bits and i guess the plants are nothing compared to his job of protecting us and guarding our home.

Marwind’s face looks naughty as compared to my previous German Shepherd JOHNNY VON KELLY. Johnny looked like a real gentleman. Oh i surely miss him.

I was feeling lazy today maybe because of the gloomy weather. How i wish i could cuddle with Ashton as he lay beside my laptop as i was typing this.

20160707_151134aaa

I played with Ashton’s paw in between my blogging and i thought his black beanies are cute.

Hello weekend 🙂 TGIF.

dainty as a cotton candy

I have a new favorite flower… COTTON CANDY. That’s right. It is really called cotton candy, a popular air plant. Actually it’s name is Tillandsia and cotton candy is just one of its hybrids. I searched online and I’ve known that air plants are so easy to maintain. It doesn’t need soil to grow and would just need some misting depending upon how hot the climate is. If it is unbearably hot, the plant needs to be dunked in water for quite a while and drip dry before displaying it again.

The reason why it is called cotton candy is because of its dainty soft blush to bright pink flowers that look so deliciously soft and pretty to eat like a fairy floss.

I found this plant during one of my shopping trips. Since i am unsure of where to place it as it needs to be in a semi-shade to bright light places and most importantly where the cats couldn’t reach it, i just took some photos of its flower. I promise myself that i would visit the plant nursery shops near my village and look for cotton candy hoping that i would get it at a much lower price. The ones i saw at the mall cost P200.00 or about US 4.30 per plant.

In the meantime, i am sharing these photos for your eyes to feast on.

For more good vibes, here’s a photo (grabbed from my son’s file) of my 2 rescued kitties Ashton and Kuting. Although both are puspins or domestic short hair native cats, they are exactly OPPOSITES in terms of manners. While Ashton, the gray tabby loves cuddle, Kuting the gingercat is still a bit hesitant for cuddles. Ashton is not at all impressed by the laser dot but Kuting loves to play with it non-stop. Kuting has a soft meow but he is the talkative one while Ashton rarely meows. But there’s this one SIMILARITY with the two of them that always make me smile… it’s the way they sit. So cute isn’t it?

20160623_000143aaa

(Note: no worries about Kuting’s tail. It was shaved by the vet for his tail docking. I found Kuting’s lower tail already dried sort of mummified due to an injury probably because of a fight with other feral cats. The vet docked his tail as well as neutered him and he is fine ever since and became an indoor cat from then on. Read more about him here.)

It’s a rainy Sunday out here but i love it.  🙂

no partner, no problem

I only have four flowering plants in my garden. Oh well, blame it on the dogs because they destroyed almost all my plants, broke a lot of terracotta pots, trampled and messed with good soil that i was supposed to use for planting. I always wake up in the morning with the sight of a very messy and dirty garage with pieces of chewed up plants scattered everywhere. It stopped when there’s no more pots to break and plants to chew on.

At the onset of rainy season, i noticed that my two gardenia plants started to bloom. I often wonder why plants love rain WATER. As i search the net for answers, i found out that rain water is slightly acidic and it contains some organic matter that plants love and need to thrive and bloom.

20160616_183056aaa

20160627_093532aaa

My dogs Marwind and his partner in crime Raf-raf  (click my ABOUT page to see their photo) most likely knew that they should not mess with this plant as it is included in the list of toxic plants that i found in the ASPCA website. Now i know why they were spared. If you’re interested to know the complete listing of toxic and non-toxic plants to dogs, here’s the link.

And speaking of PARTNERS, here are photos of my adorable buddies.

As always, Tiger is my ever loyal laptop buddy. The moment i open my laptop he will jump on the table and flop himself right away to catch my attention then he’ll take a nap.

20160625_150643aaa

Here’s Boots with that mellow stare as if begging me to give him a piece of my sandwich. Boots is my all-time food buddy as he’ll always at my side when i eat. Well, he wins most of the time as i give him the chicken treat that i personally prepare for him. He loves boiled chicken meat.

20160628_143750aaa

Here’s the ever so playful chubby Ashton who loves to sleep on top of the laptop and is also my alternate laptop buddy.

20160628_135833_001aaa

And at the end of the day… here’s my adorable sleep buddy Star. She instantly made one of my pillows her own but that’s okay. (Umm … mom i think you need to clean my nose now to remove those food marks so i would look prettier , haha.)

20160628_021424aaa

No partner in life.. no problem. My furry partners keep me company and i adore them to bits.

It’s a wonderful day. Don’t forget to smile 🙂

of raindrops and curves

Summer is over.. or is it? Today’s temperature reached 32 degrees and it was too hot. It is supposed to be rainy season but rain only visits about once a week and that is very strange. Anyway, i snapped some photos of yellowbells in the garden after a heavy downpour last week. It was really a relief and i literally welcomed it with open arms.

I love taking photos of raindrops on flowers and leaves. They are like heaven-sent crystal gems that shine and sparkle as touched by the little ray of sunshine. I’m sure the flowers must have been so thankful as it quenches all its nooks and CURVES.

20160615_170230a

20160615_170446a

And speaking of CURVES… show them your curves my babies…

Here’s Ashton showing you his curves… his big belly curves 🙂

20160611_124233a

Here’s Kuting donning the same pose and showing you his curves (oops! not his machoness haha because he’s already neutered)

20160610_171446a

Their goofiness and playfulness always make me smile.

Wishing everyone a happy Wednesday 🙂
