weekly photo challenge: foreshadow

A horseshoe is believed to bring good luck and wealth and as such it is hung on doors of some houses. It could be a foreshadow that some good things would come along the way.

weekly photo challenge: curves

Walking around my garden, i marvel at the different loops and curves a single tendril could have. Aren’t they pretty?

This one formed so many little loops before curving into a letter C.

How about double loops with each loop curving into more loops for each loop. Oh did i make any sense?

This one has even some web encapsulated by the spirally curves.

And if you’re wondering where these loops and curves came from? They are tendrils from my dazzling and exotic red passion flower plant.

a fleeting moment of peace

Having been really busy the whole weekdays, it’s nice to have a short trip out of town during the weekend in the beautiful city of Tagaytay. It’s a favorite destination if you want some rest and relaxation.

The beauty of the lake is outstanding. The weather is cooler because Tagaytay sits on a higher altitude. The scenery is very panoramic and peaceful. The sky is bright blue and the clouds are so thick and white. The air is fresh and invigorating.

Come sit with me on the bench, relax and enjoy the fleeting moment while it lasts and let the cool soft breeze gently kiss our cheeks, throw out our worries away and just be inspired with the beauty of nature.

weekly photo challenge: the sign says…

“Signs. Funny, poignant, symbolic, incorrect, informative, foreshadowing…there are so many signs in the world.”

The sign says… CLOSED for violation of City Ordinance #10-109 BAWAL ang PLASTIK sa Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. (Translated: CLOSED for violation of City Ordinance #10-109 NO TO PLASTIC in the City of Muntinlupa).

tagged U: Upside-down Umbrellas

Here’s what i found at the activity center at the mall, rows and rows of multi-colored upside-down umbrellas. I’ve learned that there will be some kiddie activities the following day.

What a simple and fun way to make the place vibrant and happy.

weekly photo challenge: in the background

It has been raining almost everyday and it’s a welcome respite from the summer heat. I love the crystal clear raindrops that form on leaves and flowers and i’m sure they are more thankful and happy for the arrival of rain.

While walking around my garden, i noticed this rain-drenched spiderweb on my passion flower plant. The raindrops are like nature’s cooling beads and i love how they sparkle as touched by the sun’s rays.

weekly photo challenge: escape

Late last year, i found a nest in my garden and blogged about it here . I managed to visit the nest everyday and took a lot of photos but wasn’t able to make a follow-up entry about it. With Escape as the new theme for this week’s photo challenge, now is the chance to share with you the photo highlights of my exciting garden finds.

Day 1: I found 2 eggs in the nest.

day 1

Day 13, i found out that only 1 egg hatched and i couldn’t find the other egg.

oct29

day 13

Day 15, i noticed how remarkable it had grown in just 2 days. I always see mommy bird guarding its baby. When its her time to hunt for food that’s the only time that i could go near the nest to take photos.

oct31

day 15

Day 17, the baby bird is now partially covered with tiny feathers. It had grown much bigger with eyes still partially closed.

nov2

day 17

Day 20, almost all of its skin is now covered with feathers. It had grown bigger and almost occupying the entire nest.

nov5

day 20

Day 22, the whole body is now covered with mature feathers and it’s body is now as big as the nest. It is obviously well-fed, thanks to the devotion of the mommy bird in feeding its young.

nov7

day 22

Day 23, i visited the nest again and found it empty.

I’m sure it had learned how to fly and escaped the boundaries of its nest ready to face the world… and the life cycle continues…

tagged T: tobi

Introducing… Tobi, a new member of the family. He is a playful bundle of joy. His past time is bullying the kitties and my other doggie Kristina. He loves to play a lot and run like crazy and chase the cats.

This photo was taken when Tobi was just 2 months old. Now that he’s a bit bigger and fatter, he can’t make himself fit under the wooden cabinet anymore.

tagged S: Swarovski Crystals

Swarovski Crystals are man-made gems manufactured in Austria. In 1895 Daniel Swarovski discovered a formula for making beautiful and high quality lead glass crystals and Swarovski Crystals was founded. Since then, they have been making fashionable jewelries, charms, fashion accessories, figurines and more. These crystals are known to be as the diamond of the crystal world.

I’ve been lucky enough to own a set of  Swarovski baby penguins which was a gift from hubby many years ago. It includes a set of 3 baby penguins and a small pool of water made of crystal of course and a tiny certificate.

If you want to collect Swarovski Crystals, just be sure to buy it from authorized Swarovski Crystals dealers as there may be fake crystals that are sold as real Swarovski crystals.

If you’re an owner of a Swarovski Crystal collectibles or jewelry, you should avoid exposing them to water and/or chemicals. Only mild soap, water, and a soft cloth should be used for cleaning and polishing your crystals. Store them in its original packaging as much as possible.
