if i fitz i sitz

Cats are so fond of tight places.. my salad bowl which i just temporarily placed on the center table became one of their favorite nap spots. A salad bowl became a cat bowl. Same thing goes to my fruit basket which is now officially a cat basket.

“If i fitz i sitz” is the famous TRADEMARK slogan of cats.

My cat Tiger loves to squeeze himself into my salad bowl and my fruit basket. He is a big cat but he still fitz.

Since Puti is the youngest among my cats and is the smallest, she could pretty much fitz herself in.

Ashton, the tabby cat has the biggest belly and is always having a hard time to fitz. Kuting is obsessed with boxes. He’s always the first one to dive in whenever i place a new box to play with. Tiger sometimes love to snuggle tightly at the back of the curtains. Lower right photo features Puti who managed to force herself into the trash bin.

Cats are oftentimes silly and mischievous whenever they are on play mode but are sweethearts during relaxed moments. But most of all, they lower my stress level, great companion, fun to talk to and absolutely are the best in the world in keeping secrets hahaha.

a jolly bee

I love taking photos of flowers after the rain. Rain droplets are awesome. Each and every one of them contains a clear miniature reflection of images. And they glitter like crystal beads.

But.. one photo gave me a surprise. Did i’ve just taken a photo of a bee? I zoomed it in and there it was… a bumble bee.

Did you see it? It’s at the upper right side of the photo. Here it is…

Today’s weather is awesome. The sun is shining but i could feel some cool breeze in the air. A lot of birds are flying by and made my front yard a stopover. Since i still have lots of leftover birdseed and sunflower seeds, i usually scatter some in front of the main door. While the birds are busy eating, the kitties are so happy watching them.

Here’s Ashton and Kuting having a wonderful day watching live cat tv.

cute cat videos

I am so tired of doing house chores today. No worries, Tiger is here to the rescue. As soon as i lay down on the sofa he would come by my side and give mommy a soothing back massage. He’s such a sweet and lovable cat.

Do you want to see him in action? All four paws doing a back massage. Read here if you want to read Tiger’s adoption story.

Here’s another video showing Ashton and Kuting grooming each other. Read their rescue and adoption story here.

I am quite happy that it is raining today. The summer heat has been so terrible and rain provides a lot of relief. So, what to do on a cool and rainy day… warm cuddles with the kitties.

If only i could speak…

Thank you mom for rescuing me. I was so afraid, hungry, tired and cold when you found me. You did not hesitate to scoop me up when i followed you and rubbed so hard on your feet until i stumble and fall. Who would have thought that i used to fit on your palm and that’s how small i was. Now i am fat (hehe…), happy and so grateful to you mom. I owe you my life. Had you not saved me, i might have died of hunger and cold from the rain or maybe torn into pieces by stray dogs. You are truly my hero mom. Love… Ashton.

Thank you mom for adopting me from the shelter. With lots and lots of cats i am so lucky that you’ve chosen me or shall i say i chose you. Well, i tried so hard to catch your attention. I tried to be a good boy, i tried to be calm when you carried me, i tried to be as sweet as i could be because i really wanted a forever home. Had you not adopted me, i still might have been at the shelter. I hope all my siblings have also found their forever home. It’s been 5 years since then and i am so happy to be with you. I know i am making you happy too as i have been your constant nap buddy and laptop buddy. You said you love to cuddle me because i have the softest fur. I also love to cuddle with you too. You are my hero mom. Love… Tiger

Thank you mom for rescuing me. Ever since i walked inside the yard as a tiny kitten, you made me a part of the family of outside cats that you are regularly feeding. There are a lot of challenges and dangers being an outside cat. I know that you take good care of us by feeding us and by making sure we are spayed/neutered but i still got into trouble. One day, you found me with a big wound on my tail. You got so worried upon noticing that the lower part of my tail has no life already. I know vet bills are expensive but you hurriedly brought me at the vet for tail docking. I guess i have to thank the unfortunate thing that happened to my tail because from then on you made me an inside cat. You said i am too sweet and timid to be an outside cat which often resulted to other toms bullying me around. Now i sleep in comfort inside your home. I have a lot of furselfies too like the rest of the kitties which you post regularly on your Instagram. You are my hero mom. Love… Kuting

When grandma has been experiencing difficulties because of grandpa’s illness, grandma decided to bring me to you for fostering. Grandma had no choice during that time because grandpa sometimes gets angry with me for no reason at all and grandma always cries. Inspite of my disability as a deaf kitty, you never get tired of giving me lots of extra care and attention. Today marked another milestone as i have been spayed. When i heal, sooner i would be with grandma. Well, i know she would take care of me like you do and she says it’s okay and safe to live with her now and nobody would hurt me again because grandpa had crossed the bridge. But i am not taking that against grandpa because he had Alzheimer’s and he was not aware of the things that he says or do. When the time comes that i will be back to live with grandma, i will surely miss you mom. Thank you for all the love and care. You are my hero and you will forever be my mom. Love… Puti

all about love

This will be our first Christmas without my father and our second without my brother. I will be honest, when my brother passed, i literally cried buckets of tears. Whenever i think of him or see photos of him i cry. These days i still get teary eyed whenever i think of him. I really miss him so much and forever i will. But, i don’t know and i’m not sure why i did not feel the same way when my father died. Yes, i miss him… we all do but it seemed like all of us had already accepted about his passing. Maybe our sense of relief just outweighed our sense of loneliness and grieving. Now that he’s gone, it seemed like a renewal. My parent’s house is having a big renovation, all the clutter that my father has been holding on has been disposed and most importantly i noticed a tremendous change in my mother’s aura. She has been smiling a lot, stress is gone because nobody is bullying her anymore and i truly believe she is happy. Of course she misses my father but she recovers quickly.

The holiday season would not be complete without the family, love, food and laughter. Gifts come second and it is not as important to me now than when i was younger. But for the kids, they are really looking forward to it especially those coming from my sister who works abroad. As always she would be home for Christmas and be the jolly Santa Claus of the family.

I know it’s a cliche but Christmas is all about love and happy reunions.

Sending lots of cheers… Happy Weekend.

“I sitz here while i wait for Christmas… hey Mom, how many days til Christmas? Will you buy me lots of treats as Christmas presents?”

red velvety flower and gingers

This LOCAL red velvety flower is called cockscomb. While some really grow these plants i also see them as wildflowers and commonly growing in vacant lots. I was surprised to see some of these plants on my planter just outside my fence and i remembered that a neighbor has been growing these in her garden and i’m sure that some of the seeds were just blown by the wind. I am not protesting though as they are so gorgeous.

20161017_114640aaa

And… speaking of reds, my gingercats are happily modelling a red collar. (Note: red cats are also referred to as gingers, marmalade or orange cats.) This collar is TIGER’s but i let KUTING wear it too. Let’s see who wears it better.

Looks like my adorable models are having fun. Yes, mommy is having fun too because they look so handsomely cute.

my forever

I have a complicated love life. Married twice and both ended in failures.

When i got married the first time, i never thought it will end. We had so many dreams and so many plans and a lot of promises but things did not turn out the way it is supposed to be. Things happen like major disagreements, problems in finances, immaturity, incompatibility and the relationship ended.

Again, I wasn’t lucky the second time around in searching for that chance to be happy again. I thought that maybe this time it would last forever. How wrong i was.. there’s no FOREVER. The relationship collapsed because of lies, deception, cheating and empty promises. The act of cheating and lying are definitely not mistakes because they are intentional and that’s why it was so hurting. I found it really hard to move past the hurt when TRUST was broken so there was no use for me to be in that kind of relationship anymore. The more i stay in the relationship, the more it was hurting me so getting out of that is the best decision ever … i’ve  felt that URGENT need to escape so i could maintain my sanity otherwise i would really go crazy dealing with too much anger. Oh well, enough of these dramas.

Let’s kick the blues away by starting the day with a smile and be happy.

20160916_084418aaa

And one of my sources of happiness are… There’s Star, Tiger, Boots, Kuting, Ashton and my new foster Puti that bring so much smile and happiness. There’s Marwind, Kristina, Rafraf and Tobi that make me laugh when they are acting like goof balls. (Visit my About page to see their photos).

Among my kitties, these two are really BFFs. They groom each other, sleep together and play together. I love them forever.

sentimental value

It is fine to keep things from the past but we just have to be sure that these would not clutter our present. It is just a matter of determining which ones give us happiness and fond memories.

Holding on to a little Santa CANDLE with fondness may seem a bit strange to some but for me it is meaningful and important. It represents the number of years when i had to finally move out of my parents’ home. I clearly remembered buying this cute and lovely candle way back in 2000 when we moved into a rented house while our new home is under construction. Tiny it may seem but it has been one of the decors every Christmas season in my own home since then and it is now on its 16th year. Quite a feat for an itty bitty candle don’t you think?

20161014_211546aaa

Meanwhile, the kitties are getting crazy playing with a used red ribbon. Endless fun and enjoyment with a thing of no value.

20161013_111929aaa

Have a happy weekend everyone.

source of happiness

I am back to my old routines now and life goes on. My family grieved because of my father’s passing but we are definitely moving on. We just have to cherish all the memories and of course create happy ones too.

One of the best entertainers for me are my kitties. Watching them really makes me smile. I guess i needed that extra dose of happiness these days.

DARING is the way to go for my kitty Kuting. He loves sitting like this. “Honey you really made me smile. Thank you.”

fun things to do on a rainy day

I love rainy days. While some people hates it, i do find it relaxing. Besides it is an excuse for staying longer in bed. But why is it that sometimes we feel sad when it rains? Must be the effects of the sound of the rain as it trickle on the window, or the gloomy surroundings that the dark clouds bring. But for me, rain only means one thing…. FUN and FOOD.

So, to set the mood up, here are the things that i usually do on a rainy day.

  • cook a favorite dish …

20160811_145454aaa

“I just pan seared porkchops which i seasoned with mixed herbs and sea salt. in oil and butter till golden brown on both sides and finished cooking them in the oven. Result: moist porchops, fork tender and so delish… “

  • listen or watch the rain as it falls.. not only it is mesmerizing but also relaxing
  • eat comfort food.. sweets or desserts are on my number one list

20160325_142747aaa

“Just add milk. or in this case oats milk to a bowl of chickpeas… ah so divine…”

  • watch my kitties as they curl up in a ball to stay warm, or just groom each other.

20160807_151655aaa

“Lickety-lickety lick… Kuting is definitely loving it.”

20160813_021658aaa

“cute kitty puddle… “

  • take photos of raindrops on flowers .. yes, doing this all the time.
  • dance under the rain.. no age limit, just have fun doing it.
  • read magazines over a cup of hot coffee
  • or maybe all of the above…

20160811_220523aaa

“Hey Tiger, wait for me… i will take a nap too.. gotta get our fleece blanket first.”

Cool weather plus comfort food plus the simple luxury of the softness of my couch plus the warmth of my nap buddy Tiger equals pure bliss. Happy Sunday!
