little emotional appeal

I am obsessed with journals and i have a wide collection of them. These are the newest addition.

I love the quotes written on their cover.

Beige Journal:

LITTLE EMOTIONAL APPEAL
every day
has a little surprise
every day
is unique and different

Purple journal:

The best way to predict the future
is to invent it.

Pink Journal:

Appreciate the beauty of the world
beautiful scenery can be seen on the road.

Among the three, my favorite is the pink one. It has lovely multi-colored butterfly prints adorning its layered pages. It’s so cute and unique isn’t it?

These days, i am filling out the blank pages of my orange journal. I adore the little pineapple trinket dangling on its page marker. At the end of the day when everything is relaxed, i often write my feelings and how my day was. I write to express my emotion. My orange journal is a wonderful listener. It is always open for my thoughts. It has become the WINDOWS to my soul as it knows my deep down emotions.

Hello October. Looking forward to more exciting things ahead. I know that challenges will come along the way but life goes on… i will just be bringing out all the goodness in every single day.

they brighten up my day

Flowers make me happy. It lifts up my mood and makes me cheery. If only i could display flowers inside the house then i would be happier. But i am afraid the kitties will just make a mess of it as i have experienced having one of my indoor plants in a glass vase got broken because of their wild chasing. For now i would just enjoy taking photos.

Flowers are beneficial to a person’s emotion. I believe that it’s because of their bright colors and a connection to nature. Nature also makes us feel better as it soothes and eases our stress and anxiety away.

There’s also one very important part of my life that always brightens up my day.. It’s Star. Here’s a photo i took of her in the morning when i woke up. She’s up and about and greets me hello with a soft meow and an invitation to caress her soft fur. Isn’t she lovely?

Star stays most of the time in my bedroom . She is not FORBIDDEN but free to go downstairs as she pleases but she seldom stays longer. My only princess definitely hates rough play and wild chasing among the four princes. She is the mellow and laid back type and my bedroom is her peaceful refuge.

It’s #TBT or throwback Thursday. Here’s another photo of Star playing with my ipad when she’s just about 7 months old… actually we were both enjoying answering the word hunt game.

Happy Thursday to everyone. I hope i made you smile today.  🙂

dainty as a cotton candy

I have a new favorite flower… COTTON CANDY. That’s right. It is really called cotton candy, a popular air plant. Actually it’s name is Tillandsia and cotton candy is just one of its hybrids. I searched online and I’ve known that air plants are so easy to maintain. It doesn’t need soil to grow and would just need some misting depending upon how hot the climate is. If it is unbearably hot, the plant needs to be dunked in water for quite a while and drip dry before displaying it again.

The reason why it is called cotton candy is because of its dainty soft blush to bright pink flowers that look so deliciously soft and pretty to eat like a fairy floss.

I found this plant during one of my shopping trips. Since i am unsure of where to place it as it needs to be in a semi-shade to bright light places and most importantly where the cats couldn’t reach it, i just took some photos of its flower. I promise myself that i would visit the plant nursery shops near my village and look for cotton candy hoping that i would get it at a much lower price. The ones i saw at the mall cost P200.00 or about US 4.30 per plant.

In the meantime, i am sharing these photos for your eyes to feast on.

For more good vibes, here’s a photo (grabbed from my son’s file) of my 2 rescued kitties Ashton and Kuting. Although both are puspins or domestic short hair native cats, they are exactly OPPOSITES in terms of manners. While Ashton, the gray tabby loves cuddle, Kuting the gingercat is still a bit hesitant for cuddles. Ashton is not at all impressed by the laser dot but Kuting loves to play with it non-stop. Kuting has a soft meow but he is the talkative one while Ashton rarely meows. But there’s this one SIMILARITY with the two of them that always make me smile… it’s the way they sit. So cute isn’t it?

20160623_000143aaa

(Note: no worries about Kuting’s tail. It was shaved by the vet for his tail docking. I found Kuting’s lower tail already dried sort of mummified due to an injury probably because of a fight with other feral cats. The vet docked his tail as well as neutered him and he is fine ever since and became an indoor cat from then on. Read more about him here.)

It’s a rainy Sunday out here but i love it.  🙂

cat purrday friday post: my fascinator

Hello my furfriends. Mum has been so busy attending to Queenie’s needs. He still needs to take his medicines until end of October. Inspite of that mum still has time to play with me … One time we mum played with my pink feather cat toy. Nope, mum did not let me chase it, instead she made fun of me but i think in a cute way.

Hmm… okay.. love the feathers but does it look good on me?

Oh i get it, putting that on my head like a fascinator… yes, so princess-like.

Updates on Queenie:

It was tiring and hectic and stressful the previous week. I was super busy hence i have no time to post and visit blogs. My mom’s cat Queenie was back at the vet last week due to some sores again in his mouth because of his auto-immune disease. He (yes, he’s a HE) was confined for 3 days because he needed IV fluids for hydration and shots of steroids and antibiotics. My mom is having a hard time in caring for him so Queenie is now staying with me. Other than his auto-immune disease, his liver test reading is also slightly elevated. Right now, he has 4 different kinds of medicines… prednisone (steroid), doxyvet (anti-infective), immunol (for immunity) and liverolin (appetizer, immune enhancer and to promote healthy liver). It really takes a lot of patience caring for a special needs cat. So far, he eats well and drinks a lot.

Queenie (older photo)

After all that Queenie has been through, i admire his strong will to live and survive. He is such a sweet boy and i will do my best to give him a good quality of life. He will be back at the vet after two weeks for a recheck.

a word a week photo challenge: window

Blissful Moment

looking out the window
i see droplets of rain
like tears
gentle rays of sunshine
forces its way
a blissful moment

window

Above photo was taken outside of a restaurant. I love the effect of flowing water on the glass. It resulted to a blurry photo but it turned out to be a nice work of art.

We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses blooming outside our windows today. – Dale Carnegie

Star (3 months old) looking out the window

While i was busy looking at my flowers outside the window, Star was busy watching birds instead. For an indoor cat, windows are their connection to the outside world.

a word a week photo challenge: technology

The other night while i was busy reading blogs, my kittycat Star was in a hyper mode. She was running crazily, chasing i-don’t-know-what-it-is up to the point that she even ran on top of me while i was in bed seated in front of my laptop. So, i decided to search a video on You Tube that she could watch to make her sit still. I found a video of birds feeding happily and noisily at a bird feeder.

Success! She is finally settled and i kept her entertained. Well that’s how TECHNOLOGY works for me and Star.

cat purrday friday post: this box is mine

Hi dear friends. Can you guess the real owner of the big blue box?

20131120_201542a20131120_201607a20131120_205159a

20131120_205346aIf you guessed Boots, you are correct. Well actually the box is really for Boots. Mum bought this box so Boots could use it as his own litter box. I have my own and it’s colored green. Tiger has his own too and it’s yellow. Both are covered and with flapping doors. I love mine cause you know it gives me some privacy. You see, Boots don’t like covered litter boxes. Silly boy, he doesn’t even know how to use the flapping door.

Wishing everyone a nice weekend and i hope i made you smile today.

Warm hugs and kitty kisses

It’s Tuesday and it’s time for #TRT. It is my first time to join in this exciting photo challenge. Here are my entries for this week:

Boots loves to roll-over to catch my attention. I couldn’t resist but to give him lots of belly rubs. Yes, he loves gentle belly rubs.

I am about 5 months old in this next photo. I just had a very rough play with my sibling Kristina and i was panting and grasping for air but we had fun.

I love my sibling Kristina. I grew up with her and we always sleep together on mum’s bed.
