my lemon

Lemon is my African lovebird. She used to have a mate named Lime that sadly crossed the rainbow bridge last November 2016. They used to be very loud but i am happy hearing their happy chirps. When Lime passed, i seldom hear Lemon chirps. Over the years, they never had any chicks but i often see eggs thrown out of the nest.

The birdies were given to us around 2009. It’s been a long time. It breaks my heart and is so painful to watch Lemon now struggling to go to its nest and i sometimes give her a little push so she could get inside her cozy home. She used to bite but these days she welcomes my help and doesn’t struggle anymore. Maybe it is because of old age but i’m sure she is not sick. Yesterday i made a ramp to help her navigate.

For now, i will just take it one day at a time and will continue caring for Lemon. I want to be hopeful and wait for her to be better but i know it has been 8 years and she is looking old. I feel sad watching her.

Here’s a photo of Lemon and Lime from a post i made about them in 2012. Click here if you want to read the post.

The Daily Post Daily Prompt: SYMPATHY and Weekly Photo Challenge: WAITING

i’m bacccckkkk!!!!

Wow! It has been almost two years since my last post. A lot of things have happened. I have way too much fur babies now… new rescued kitties and doggies too. I will be updating my About page soon.

Hello friends 🙂 I hope everyone is doing well and i will try to read your posts in the days to come.

Well, a lot has happened in my personal life. I have learned that i was being cheated on. Yes, that’s right. I just couldn’t believe that the person whom i know who will respect, protect and care for me is the same person who would give me miseries and pain. My life changed overnight. I just can’t forgive and forget because of the emotional trauma that it caused me. It was a struggle dealing with it… a long and agonizing journey. Being cheated on is the most painful and ultimate betrayal in a relationship. I became bitter and angry at the same time.

Fast forward to TODAY. I have moved on and it is the best decision i have ever made. It was a long process but I have dealt with the pain. I just woke up one day and realized that i am happier being single again. Being alone is better than being with someone who don’t value me. I left my past in the past. I don’t want to carry the emotional burden which will only pull me down and prevent me from being happy and affect my future. I deserved to be happy and i want to be happy.

Okay, enough of the drama. For good vibes, here’s a photo of STAR, my lovely princess and is looking gorgeous as ever.

Star makes me smile as always. 🙂

She’s fun, very playful, loving and a beautiful bundle of furry cuteness. She cuddles up with me every night in bed.

my odd-eyed kittycat Star

Cat Purrday Friday Post:

Kittycat Star is an all-white odd-eyed furry little creature. She’s very playful but very loving in her own ways. Her bestfriend is my little doggie Kristina. Odd-eyed kitties are born with different colors of each eye i.e. one blue and one yellow, brown or green eye. I have read that odd-eyes are usually common with white cats but it may also be present with cats of any color.

And here she is, showing off at her favorite roost:

“I could see you mommy.. look, i’m up here!”

“This is my favorite spot mommy.. from here i could see the yard, i could see all the birdies visiting your garden.. and a while ago i saw a butterfly..  i could see the lizards from here too. I just love this spot.”

“Hey mommy, is my posing alright? I could be cuter you know..”

“What about this pose mommy? I won’t look at your camera, looking candid right?”

Now she’s showing off her beautiful face:

“Hey mom, i could hear the chirping of the birds, a lot of them.”

“But i’m kinda sleepy now.. i think i’m going to watch them later, i need some power catnap.”

“Mom, i am sleepy, when are we going to finish the photoshoot?”

“Okay mom, this is the last, after this shot i will be in la-la-land.”

CAT PURRDAY is a weekly (every Friday) cat post. It is not a photo challenge but it’s all about photo and story sharing of our beloved furries.

Happy posting and keep those purrs coming!

travel theme: animals

World Animal Day is celebrated each year every October 4th. It was first organized in Florence Italy by ecologists and the date was chosen because it is the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi the patron saint of all animals. However, these days it is celebrated by all animal lovers around the world regardless of background, nationality and beliefs.

This week’s travel theme by Ailsa of wheresmybackpack is Animals, in honor of World Animal Day. Animals are amazing creatures that live and co-exist among humans, as such they truly deserve to be given this much honor and respect.

Here’s my contribution for this week’s travel theme.

Happy 7 month’s birthday Star!

In about a few days from now, my kittycat STAR will be turning 7 months old.. Playful and very sweet,  she never runs out of energy, and always wants to play with anything and everything that moves…

Here’s hubby and Star, during one of those cute moments.

Hey Daddy, can we play?

Oh these papers are fun to play with..

… and this, too!

Look dad, i’m chewing on it right now…

But i really wanna play daddy..

Dad, dad, dad, i really wanna play with you…

Um, okay, i’ll look for mom, i will ask her to play with me..

But i’m really enjoying chewing on your papers, dad..

Hey mom, can we play?

Oh, okay, you’re both busy… i might as well take a nap..

Mmm, mom’s laptop is a good place to take a nap.. play with you later.. mom.. dad..

My kitty STAR just turned 3 months

It has been more than a month since i acquired my kitty Star. She is gaining weight, very active, very playful, and more cute than ever.

Star is always so camera-ready..

One of the places that she loves to pose is on the stairs where she could have a good view of us, with her blue and copper eyes following us around.

she's playing peek-a-boo with me while taking her photo.

These are her favorite toys:

I’ve been wanting my own kitty for the longest time.  Finally, got myself an adorable and cute little kitty and she’s named STAR.  She’s a persian cat, pure white coat, and the most distinct feature that’s unique about her is that one of her eyes is blue and the other one is yellow (copper).
