No need to search high and far for my Tagged Y. My fence is covered and bursting with yellowbells.

The sudden downpour didn’t stop these yellowbells from showing their bright color.

tagged X: xyloid

The vivid orange color of the crossandra flower petal looked so attractive and striking against the woody earthy background. I made use of driftwood and it’s xyloid texture provided character and substance on my rather simple photo subject. The soft and creamy bokeh at the right side of the photo made it more visually appealing and pleasant.

tagged W: whiskers on kittens are one of my favorite things

I don’t think my kitty Star knows how photogenic she really is… fluffy white fur, pink nose, bright blue and golden eyes, furry tail and long whiskers. Of course my other kitty Tiger is beautiful too and the sweetest cuddle buddy.

Whiskers remind me of a song by Maria (Julie Andrews) on the classic movie The Sound of Music with first lines that goes like this…

Raindrops on roses

Whiskers on kittens…

And the last 2 lines of the song…

I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad.

How about you, what are your favorite things? Just try thinking about them and i bet it would put a smile on your face too. How easy is that!

Hope you’ll visit Star on Instagram.

tagged V: vibrant

Vibrant means bright, vivid, brilliant, intense, glowing, rich, colorful, sparkling, alive.

As some of you know, my kitty Star was hospitalized recently due to anemia. She was there for 2 days and 2 nights. Now that she’s home and doing well and her appetite is back to normal, i am happy. The happiness that i’m feeling now is as VIBRANT as the colors of these flowers.

UPDATE: The flower in the photo is Lantana Camara (Wild-Type Spanish Flag) and the leaves are poisonous to animals. Thank you to anotherdayinparadise for the information about the flowers’ name. Thank you also to Ed of thoughtsfromtheroad for emailing me the flower’s name too.

tagged U: Upside-down Umbrellas

Here’s what i found at the activity center at the mall, rows and rows of multi-colored upside-down umbrellas. I’ve learned that there will be some kiddie activities the following day.

What a simple and fun way to make the place vibrant and happy.

Introducing… Tobi, a new member of the family. He is a playful bundle of joy. His past time is bullying the kitties and my other doggie Kristina. He loves to play a lot and run like crazy and chase the cats.

This photo was taken when Tobi was just 2 months old. Now that he’s a bit bigger and fatter, he can’t make himself fit under the wooden cabinet anymore.

tagged S: Swarovski Crystals

Swarovski Crystals are man-made gems manufactured in Austria. In 1895 Daniel Swarovski discovered a formula for making beautiful and high quality lead glass crystals and Swarovski Crystals was founded. Since then, they have been making fashionable jewelries, charms, fashion accessories, figurines and more. These crystals are known to be as the diamond of the crystal world.

I’ve been lucky enough to own a set of  Swarovski baby penguins which was a gift from hubby many years ago. It includes a set of 3 baby penguins and a small pool of water made of crystal of course and a tiny certificate.

If you want to collect Swarovski Crystals, just be sure to buy it from authorized Swarovski Crystals dealers as there may be fake crystals that are sold as real Swarovski crystals.

If you’re an owner of a Swarovski Crystal collectibles or jewelry, you should avoid exposing them to water and/or chemicals. Only mild soap, water, and a soft cloth should be used for cleaning and polishing your crystals. Store them in its original packaging as much as possible.

In my About page, i’ve already introduced my adopted cat Tiger. I also featured him a lot of times in my Cat Purrday Friday Post together with Star, my odd-eyed kitty.

It has always been my wish to adopt a cat. So, i went to C.A.R.A. last October 31, 2012. Friends from C.A.R.A. immediately let us in and here are some of the photos i took of the cats that need forever homes. The place looks humble and simple and clean and their cages are clean too.

one of the adorable kitties

When we arrived there, the cats have just been put in their cages after their playtime. Me and my kids took time to bond with the kitties. The staff were gracious enough to introduce them to me and at the same time giving me a description of their traits. When i went there, i wanted a kitty who is about the same age as my Star. I’ve held and hugged a lot of kitties but Tiger stood out among all the kitties. He is the sweetest, he was so relaxed when i held him in my arms and around my shoulder and i really felt that Tiger is the one. I believe he’d chosen me as his new mum and i felt it in my heart.

I was so excited being with the kitties but felt sad too for hearing stories from the staff on how some of these furries had been abused by evil people. Each of these kitties have stories to tell and it’s heartbreaking.

While signing some papers, Tiger is being readied for adoption. One of the assistants cleaned his ears and cut his nails. Then they let me pose with Tiger so they could take a photo of us together for their record.

I’ve learned that Tiger is one of the 7 siblings that they found inside a sack and meowing from hunger and abandoned in the street. C.A.R.A. rescued them and had to bottle fed them since they were so tiny and needing milk to survive.

Here’s Tiger feeling so relaxed inside the car. Did you notice his tipped ear? Yes, he’s already spayed.

And here he is on his first day in the house feeling so comfy at the cat condo. I think he weighed less than 2 kilos then.

Here’s Tiger now, a big bundle of cuteness, weighing almost 5 kilos. He’s such a sweet and adorable boy.

I’m sure i made Tiger very happy and the feeling is mutual. I’m so happy too in adopting a rescue cat that needs a fur-ever home.

Port Alberni is located in the province of British Columbia in Canada. One of its attractions is the Harbour Quay which is a waterfront collection of boutiques, eateries, public sculptures and parks. It is also a popular sightseeing spot with great views of marine life.

The Maritime Discovery Centre can also be found here. It is a maritime museum constructed from a real lighthouse which displays the marine history of the valley.

Also on display is The Banfield. It served valiantly from 1951 to 1969. She is a wooden-hulled, diesel powered surf boat, able to right herself in heavy seas with a keel containing 1800 pounds of bronze.

This is Star Evviva, hubby’s vessel at Port Alberni. They loaded 6,000 tons of high quality lumber bound to Port of Tokyo Japan. As you would notice in the photo, the Maritime Museum Lighthouse could be seen at the background.
