*PUTI is really special among all my kitties. As i’ve mentioned before, she is a deaf cat. The only advantage of being deaf was that she’s the only one having a chill of her life on new year’s eve while the rest of the kitties were all bothered and tensed with the loud noise of fireworks, music and merry making.
She loves getting inside of things like paper bags, boxes and handbags. Drawers left partially open is also a great hideaway. She would literally squeeze herself in and nothing could stop her.
My bag is probably one of her favorite places that she enjoys hopping in. Leave it open and she’ll come right in and sleep to her heart’s content.
Puti, despite her hearing disability is just like any ordinary kitty. She is very playful and loves cuddles. It melts my heart that she would never know her name because she couldn’t hear. One way to communicate with her is i gently press her body to my chest so when i talk she would feel the sound vibrations. Her meows are also funny. Sometimes it’s so soft like a whisper but during feeding time or when she is looking for me it is a bit loud .. a crescendo and decrescendo of meowing. But i do understand. She couldn’t hear herself meowing and if she already sees me, she stops and makes a very soft meow.
*PUTI means WHITE in our language.

I’m fascinated that she purrs even though she can’t hear. I’ve heard that the vibration is soothing to them. I guess we hear the sound, they feel the purr. So beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
indeed.. she is really pretty.. i love it when she purrs. and when she feels the vibration of my talking she is doing just that.
The first time I hear of a deaf cat. Interesting!
i’m glad i wrote about her.. thank you for visiting 🙂
My pleasure!
Oh bless her! How lovely that she purrs…I think that must be right, that she finds the vibration comforting 🙂
i think so too.. it’s the only way that i could communicate with her and i think she likes it 🙂
